Our President, Chris Urquhart, started in the landscaping industry in 1986 with nothing but a truck and a dream, but thanks to a lot of hard work and technical knowledge, he has made Green Unlimited the largest independent lawn care company in the Greater Ottawa area.
This was no accident; the reason we’ve been able to achieve this success is because we use science to build beautiful, healthy lawns from the ground up. We do this by administering a soil test—free of charge—for every new customer, which is sent to a neutral, third-party lab. What this does is it allows us to see what’s going on with your turf on a micro level, so that we can address any fundamental issues that may exist, rather than just applying treatment and hoping for the best.
In addition to using science as the foundation for everything we do, we also ensure that our team members continue to learn and grow so that we can offer the greatest, most efficient treatments and customer service possible. This culture of learning and growth is fostered by attending various industry trade shows and seminars so that we can be on the cutting edge of the industry, taking various professional development and strategic planning courses that we can operate more efficiently and better serve our customers, and by encouraging one another to read and pursue various personal development goals so that we can become the best possible versions of ourselves.
We would love to have the opportunity to serve you, so please fill out our contact form, send us an email at email@example.com, or give us a call at 613-744-7336 so that someone from our team can help you get started on achieving the lawn of your dreams.
The Green Unlimited Team
When 2005 was the declared The Year of the Veteran, the Green Unlimited team decided to recognize it in a special way. Chris’s wife, Sharon, came up with the concept of holding a ‘Day of Tribute’ to honour our soldiers and their families who’ve valiantly and unselfishly sacrificed for Canada over several centuries… and she saw it though to make it a reality.
After the first Day of Tribute it took on a life of its own when Sharon, on behalf of the green landscape industry – through the Ottawa Chapter of Landscape Ontario – organized a day of volunteer work, where landscape industry professionals come together at the National Military Cemetery each year to do what they do best – improve the landscape…
Teams of volunteers continue to answer the call, turning out every year to help fertilize grass & trees, plant flowers, mulch beds, install interlocking paths and prune trees for the grounds of the military cemetery.
This beautiful annual community project brings out the best our industry has to offer… and the Green Unlimited team is proud to have played a key role in launching it and watching it grow.
The Cancer Survivor Park…
Community involvement has always been very important to the Green Unlimited team. And since we’ve all been touched by cancer directly or indirectly, we chose to become involved with the Cancer Survivor Park when it was being built at the corner of Alta Vista & Riverside Drive in Ottawa (a few blocks from the new Trainyards Mall and just across the street from the Alta Vista Post Office facility).
Everyone had a great time being involved and helping such a worthy cause.
Soil analysis test is done by a third party lab in Guelph, Ontario. It’s how we build lawns from the ground up – through science.
