What’s bugging you?

What do you call an ant that won’t go away? Permanant.

Ants seem to be becoming a substantial issue for many properties around the Ottawa area this summer, and we wanted to let you know that we are here to help! We have three types of ant control we provide. They are: perimeter ant control, ant control for your entire front and/or back yard, and ant control for those pesky ant hills.

All of our ant control applications come with a 3 month guarantee to make sure you stay ant-free for the entire season! Don’t hesitate to send us an email ( or give us a call for more information and stop being bugged this summer.

Also at this time of year we receive many phone calls inquiring about animals such as raccoons and skunks digging up people’s lawns, and they ask us what can be done about the issue. Most people assume they have grubs – which very well could be the case, but animals remember where they have found food in the past and could just be returning to where they know there was food previously, even if you don’t have a serious grub issue this season.

The truth is not much can be done at this time of the year. We cannot perform our nematode white grub control application until the middle of August as that is when the grubs are hatching. Once the grubs grow too much, the nematodes are no longer effective as the grubs become too big to be killed by them. What we do suggest for this time of year, if this is becoming a serious issue for you and your lawn, is to put down chicken wire over the grass. This may not look pretty, but it will help to stop the animals from digging up your lawn and causing some serious and costly damage to the turf.

The nematodes get rid of roughly 70% of the grubs – which when you consider they are usually around in the thousands when you have a serious grub problem, that’s pretty good! It is more so a preventative measure for the following season and is highly recommended. The longer you are able to keep your lawn moist after the application has been done the better as well, seeing that helps keep the nematodes alive longer, giving them more time to kill the grubs and therefore increasing their effectiveness.

If you want more information on grub control, or wish to look into booking a nematode application for this season to help prevent further damage next season, please don’t hesitate to email us at
